The whole algorithm is directed by the average color of each 'pixel' in the initial grid, so that's also where we start. For this I'm relying on paperjs and call getAverageColor() for each cell, which giving us access to the RGB, HSB/L color components. For now we're just looking at the 'gray' value though... For now.
