Genuary 25 #16: On the shoulders of giants
The way I tried to improve the color mixing was by giving each pigment a radius. Before, each pigment was always at least a little bit in the mix, which made everything a bit more 'hazy'. Overall the way the distance based mixing was implemented was a bit wonky... Now it's a little bit less wonky. Maybe.
Be that what it may, the real heavy lifting (a.k.a. magic) is done by the amazing library mixbox created by the wonderful people over at @scrt.wpns Not that I know them personally. But if you create a piece of software this good and then go ahead and let me play with it, that makes you pretty wonderful in my book.
The thing with software these days is that we're all building on the shoulders of giants. I'm very happy and grateful that Open Source is a thing. It hasn't always been. I think it's amazing and hope it can grow and prosper for may years to come.
Thank you oh big pile of code that's running in order for anyone to read this. I'm glad I only had to write a tiny bit of it. And the rest just works. Most of the time.
